ALEX “ALLEY CAT” TREMBLAY
Co-owner of Long Alley, Alex is also a partner in The Bikewrights; a sustainable transportation design and build company. A chef by trade, he spent over a decade learning and working in the hospitality industry. Alex’s life long hobby turned to employment about eight years ago when he began rebuilding used bicycles and offering tune-ups and service. This grew into Alleycat’s Bike Shop and included mobile repair service for rental fleets and community recreation centre programs in Halifax.
PAUL “LONG TODD” ROGERS
Paul, co-owner of Long Alley is a bike mechanic with 5 years of experience in the industry, a passion for cycling (especially cycle-touring), and a dry, hit or miss sense of humour (that is to say sometimes his jokes “miss” the mark and then people want to “hit” him). In addition to my professional shop experience he ran the successful backyard bicycle repair/sales business “Long Todd’s Neighbourhood Bike Shop”.
Before getting started fixing bikes Paul was front of house manager in the business partnership which started the popular Halifax eatery The Good Food Emporium. He is also a professional musician and is thrilled to be a longtime member of the King’s College Chapel Choir.
ADAM “BORK” BOURQUE
Adam has been with Long Alley Bicycles since its inception in 2015. When he first joined he strictly rode mountain bikes but has since ventured into the realm of road and cyclocross. Adam is proud to say that he is the resident hydraulic brakes, cantilever brakes, and cotter pin expert. With a background in jazz, he spends much of his free time playing bass with his band Brothers.
Tristan started at long Alley in 2016. Having grown up in a rural area, he quickly learned that the only way to have any independence was to ride a bike. He went on to do bike tours on several continents before settling in Halifax. He now rides mostly road, but still goes on the odd bike tour from time to time. When not getting his hands dirty at the shop, Tristan enjoys canoeing, camping, and hiking in the woods.
CAMERON “AVIAN TAMER” MACKAY
Cameron has been fixing bikes since the dawn of time. You might see a flash of him as he zooms by on his pursuit bar single speed. He can make just about any bike shine like the top of the Chrysler building.
